Julia in June (Holga images)

Finally, after six months, I got this film developed.
These images were taken last summer during the golden hour of my friend Julia near the Notre Dame campus.
I feel nostalgic about it as it was our last walk together on campus and around the lakes.
Four years of being neighbors, countless walks, endless winter days, endless conversations, lots of babysitting exchanges and the struggles of graduate student family life in a 500 sqft apartment shaped us as people and shaped our friendship. I am grateful.
Despite the hardship of that time, I cherish so many memories.
The timeless results of the Holga camera and the black and white film seem appropriate to me.
I have taken maybe five rolls of these films over the past couple years and I am always surprised.
These are my favorites so far.

Feeling abashed but very honored at being featured on your blog again. I did wonder what ever happened to the film photos you took that day, and it is a nice surprise to see them in January and remember that itchy field in summer. The Holga is amazing. It creates such soft and dreamy images. I hope you will be able to do more with it in the future.

Both of you are so beautiful. Observing your friendship was a pleasure and an honor. Many Blessings. -Angela C.

I love the last one. It captures Julia well--deep and hidden and looking directly at you all at one.
