These photographs tell the story of one afternoon, of grandkids and grandparents who spent hours on the shore of the Mississippi River playing with rocks, roots and the water. It was a grey, kind of dark, cool and windy day. A beautiful day. My boys threw rocks of different shades and sizes in the water and climbed on trees, sometimes with the help of some strong hands holding on to them. Those couple of hours outside were filled with laughter and joy. It was an afternoon that will stay with me for a long time.
